Eros, in Greek mythology, also known as Cupid by the Romans, was the God of love, desire and procreation, and a constant companion of his mother Aphrodite.
In this painting Eros sits upon a shoe, a symbol of protection and safety, offering a sense of security as we move forward in life's unpredictable journeys. Held gently within the shoe is a little vulnerable egg, a powerful symbol of creation, rebirth, potential, transformation, protection and freedom.
Eros quietly sits with his hand on his heart, holding the intention of love, while incubating an egg filled with light, whilst the world sorts itself out on the cusp of a new golden age.
